Our extra-curricular highlights
Cultural Events
Trangie Central School play a big part in our local NAIDOC Events on a yearly basis.
This year, the NAIDOC theme was "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," celebrating 50 years of honouring Indigenous voices and culture.
Our school was proud to join in this celebration and encourage students to learn more about the significance of NAIDOC and the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we look towards the future.
Creative and performing arts
Our music programs and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows activities as well as perform at school assemblies.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Specialised Student Programs
Empower
Trangie Central School was very lucky in receiving a wellbeing grant to enable us to run two exercise physiology groups throughout 2025 which were run by Empower.
Exercise physiology supports student wellbeing and learning through the use of guided strategic movement activity. The program aims to support building foundations for healthy lifestyles, mental well-being, academic success, team building, enhancing social and communication skills along with general health/fitness.
GROW Program RFDS ongoing each term
Weekly 1hr sessions are held for both primary and secondary small groups with RFDS through the use of the GROW program. The GROW program operates in partnership with TCS wellbeing team to facilitate the aquaponics system at TCS for both small groups, classes, activities and more. This site is used to run small healthy lifestyle groups throughout the year. Students engaging in these groups are provided with the opportunity to work and learn from RFDS staff to care for the plants, fish and selves in positive ways. The program aims to enhance student social and emotional wellbeing building strong healthy foundations for their futures. The group offers a safe supportive environment to have meaningful and difficult conversations that lead to positive lifestyle choices and learning.
